YOTI JOINS THE MULTOS CONSORTIUM

London, UK – 02 October 2018 – The MULTOS Consortium, a group of international blue chip organisations responsible for the promotion and development of the MULTOS specifications, announced today that Yoti, a UK based digital identity platform, has joined as a Partner Member.

As a member, Yoti will participate in the MULTOS Business and Technical Architecture Groups which will allow them to contribute towards the development and growth of MULTOS whilst benefiting from the Consortium’s marketing, technical, and networking resources with members that span the secure payments, digital identity and smart device industries.

Yoti gives individuals and businesses a simpler and safer way of proving and checking identities, online and in person. Current identity verification methods are cumbersome, costly and inefficient. Yoti is the new, safer way to prove your age on nights out, check out faster with age restricted items at supermarkets, save time and money proving your identity to businesses, and securely log into websites. It lets people prove who they are in seconds, without showing valuable ID documents; helping to protect them from the ever-growing risks of identity theft and fraud.

Robin Tombs, CEO and Co-Founder at Yoti said ”Despite living in a digital world, we still carry around and risk losing valuable ID documents like passports and driving licences, simply to prove who we are. The free Yoti app transforms an individual’s ID documents and biometrics into a secure digital identity, giving them a simpler and safer way to prove their identity, online and in person. Businesses can integrate with our identity platform in less than a day, to bring secure identity verification and multi factor authentication to their customers. We’re delighted to be part of the MULTOS Consortium, where we can leverage the robust and proven MULTOS technology to further enhance our global identity platform. Their approach to security is synergistic with ours and it made MULTOS an obvious choice for us.”

Paul Wilson, Commercial Manager of the MULTOS Consortium said “We are delighted to welcome the innovative Yoti business to the growing MULTOS Consortium and eco-system. Their multi-faceted and capable digital identity platform leverages various modern technologies including mobile applications, biometrics, strong encryption, QR codes, and soon to be launched smart chip contactless technology. There is a growing need to ensure people can conveniently use their digital identities for a wide range of business and social activities and services, and as such the Yoti platform and products are ideally suited to provide this assurance. By leveraging the advanced and secure MULTOS technology Yoti will be able to continue striving to become the world’s trusted identity platform”.
